What is glutathione? Glutathione, composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, is a naturally active peptide with important physiological functions. Glutathione exists in two forms in the body, respectively, as the reduced prototype glutathione(GSH)and oxidized glutathione(GSSG), among which, the reduced prototype glutathione exists in large quantities and plays a major role in the body.GSH is an irreplaceable antidote liver is the most abundant organ in glutathione, so it is also the most important detoxification organ for xenobiotic compounds.
